If unit is plugged in for sufficient period of time to warm or cook food, then is unplugged and unopened...is it insulated enough for heat to be maintained (to keep warm or keep cooking) for some time after?

The food warmer does not have a large amount of insulation in it for maintaining temperature when not plugged in.
We would recommend that food be consumed right away (within 10-20 minutes) after warming.
